Asking Alexandria is a British post-hardcore band from York, England. The band started in Dubai, UAE, where guitarist Ben Bruce started a band called EndofReason. After having recorded an unreleased album called The Irony of Your Perfection, the band changed their name to Asking Alexandria. Ben later moved back to the England, and a couple of years later, he started fresh with new members, although keeping the name Asking Alexandria. Ben has stated on the bands MySpace-blog that he was the inventor of the name, that he still liked it at the time and the meaning and reason behind the name still remained, and therefore decided to keep it. Ben also made a statement in the same blog post that the current Asking Alexandria is not the same band that wrote The Irony of Your Perfection. Asking Alexandria’s debut album Stand Up And Scream was released on September 15th 2009 through Sumerian Records. They later announced a remixed dubstep version of that album called Stepped Up And Scratched that was to be released May 25th, but has since been delayed. They just released their new album, Reckless & Relentless, on April 5th.
